Advanced Imaging Technology
Our office uses advanced cone beam CT scans and digital x-rays to assess the condition of your jaw and your candidacy for dental implants. Patients who lack enough bone tissue to support a dental implant may require a bone graft or a sinus lift to replace lost tissue. CT scans also reveal the best placement locations by helping the doctor identify the strongest points in the jaw and the positions of the nerves and sinuses. You can depend on our practice to take every available measure to plan a procedure that can provide life-changing long-term benefits.
Planning Your Procedure
Dr. Creech-Gionis uses a custom surgical guide when placing dental implants. Working with a lab, she creates this advanced device based on the images gathered during your appointment. This allows for extremely precise and safe implant placement with minimized risk. It also helps us provide a surgical experience that is faster and more comfortable. In fact, with the surgical guide, the placement procedure takes as little time as a tooth extraction. Meanwhile, the incisions are so small and precise that patients typically only need one or two sutures per implant.
Addressing Your Concerns
An important part of the consultation involves discussing your concerns about the treatment with your doctor. Many patients understandably wonder about the discomfort level during surgery and recovery. Given the precision of our surgical approach, along with the use of sedation and local anesthesia, many patients find that they have virtually no discomfort during surgery. We offer three sedation options:
- IV sedation (the doctor is certified to administer)
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
- Oral sedation
We also provide highly detailed post-surgical instructions and regular checkups to make certain that you are comfortable and on track to an excellent outcome.
If treatment is right for you, the doctor can begin planning your surgery immediately.
We will take time during your consultation to help you budget for treatment. Implants are not covered by insurance, but your plan may contribute to other related expenses, such as the cost of crowns or dentures. To help you afford surgery, we work with CareCredit®, a third-party lender offering low-interest and interest-free financing.
